As a Modeling and Simulation Engineering Intern, you will work directly with Reditus Space’s engineering team to develop models and simulations of the ENOS vehicle. You will also play a key role in improving Reditus Space’s core modeling and simulation capabilities while helping to test the GNC algorithms for the ENOS vehicle. You’ll gain hands-on experience with aerospace modeling and simulation and gain exposure to GNC design and testing.
Responsibilities
- Develop and run simulations to analyze vehicle and GNC algorithm performance for satellite and reentry systems
- Debug and troubleshoot simulation issues
- Profile code and find ways to optimize runtimes
- Collaborate with engineers to define simulation requirements and implement clever solutions
- Maintain clear software documentation and utilize version control processes
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a B.S. or Graduate Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science or a related field (senior undergraduate or graduate level)
- Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics and orbital mechanics, understanding of vehicle control is a plus
- Strong programming skills in Python, understanding/experience with C/C++ is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly iterative environment
- Knowledge of spacecraft systems and operations
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
